Exact step angle | |
This motor is basically a 48 step per revolution stepper motor driving a complicated planetary gearbox. After disassembly I determined what the full step angle was. The spec says the gear ratio was 35.4/1 but this is not quite correct. I found the gear box gear ratio was 35.45454545454/1 or exactly 390/11. 360 deg * 11 / 390 * 48 degrees per step. Or approximately: 360 / 1701.81818181818 = 0.21153846153846 degrees per step. Not the .2118 degrees per step as in the data sheet. Duane

This motor has a complicated planetary gearbox. After dis-assembly I found the full step angle was exactly: 360 * 11 / 18720 degrees per step Or approximately: 360 / 1701.81818181818 = 0.21153846153846 degrees per step Not the .2118 degrees per step as in the data sheet. Duane

Due to the fairly complicated planetary gear reduction the exact step angle is not .2115 degrees per step but is: 360/18720*11 degrees per step. This is about: 0.21153846153846 degrees.
